  • *"Finding Anna was a lifeline for me during an incredibly difficult and bleak period. I was paralysed with anxiety following a number of very upsetting life events and had a mind full of chatter that couldn’t be silenced.  I was also incapable of making decisions due to confidence issues about an upcoming house move I was dreading. From the first session Anna put me at ease and provided the support needed to get the anxiety and chatter under control. She used a mixture of hypnotherapy techniques to help me process and move on from the upsetting events and see a brighter more positive future where decisions were easier to make. In the end the house move I was dreading was something that I was able to cope with and even enjoy. This would not have been possible without the sessions with Anna. Anna has helped me through one of the most difficult periods of my life and I feel very lucky and privileged to have worked with her."
  • *"Over the last 10 months Anna has helped support me through some things from my past that were clearly affecting my future. Deeper issues of low self esteem also became apparent to me, and just how much this had had an effect on my life growing up. Anna helped me to gain a sense of perspective and control again. The sessions have all been powerful and helped me to make sense of how and why I’d been feeling that way. Anna has a gift of instantly putting you at ease, along with a great sense of humour. These combined with Anna’s professional skills, have made the time I’ve spent with Anna invaluable for my future."
  • *“I came to Anna after going through a bad patch of panic attacks, not wanting to go out and low self esteem. Anna was so friendly and i felt really relaxed with her. Had three sessions altogether and was surprised how good i felt after just one session. Now i feel so much better about myself, more positive and going out and enjoying myself without getting worked up and panicking. thanks so much Anna.”
  • *"Over the last 6 months Anna has helped me work through a period in my life where I have suffered from severe anxiety and work related stress. I felt that I had lost control over many aspects of my life, including a complete lack of self worth. I can't recommend Anna's Hypnotherapy sessions highly enough; having felt completely 'lost' Anna helped me to gain a sense of perspective and control again. She is calm and understanding and puts you and your worries at ease immediately, helping you to focus on and enjoy living in the 'here and now', quickly getting to the root of the problem. Through Hypnotherapy Anna has helped me understand and reduce my anxieties in general and also focussed on a more specific fear of flying. These sessions have been invaluable and I cannot thank her enough for her support and kindness."
  • *“When I attended the meeting that I spoke to you about, I was quite nervous thinking I may panic when I was doing the presentation, but I kept calm & gave one of the best presentations of my career.”
  • *“In July my 14 year old son had 2 sessions of hypnotherapy with Anna for his fear of being sick whilst flying. We were due to fly to Mexico which is a 10 hour flight and I was unsure whether his treatment had worked but we went to the airport to fly out, whilst he was a bit nervous he was laughing and joking – he was able to eat which he wasn’t before and he was smiling – throughout the flight he was chatty and funny and felt fine, It was wonderful and for the first time he actually enjoyed the experience which he never thought possible. (it was the same two weeks later on the return flight). I cannot thank you enough for what you did for him and for making a real difference to his life.”

Wednesday Words and Moments to Treasure

When we worry, we miss out on a lot of amazing moments of our life, because we live in the future.

We imagine scenarios that haven’t actually happened, in order to be prepared for any eventuality.

It’s easily done as the more we do it, the more it becomes an automatic habit.

But most of the things we worry about don’t actually happen, so we spend a lot of energy for nothing.

To bring ourselves back into the present moment so we can really enjoy what is happening now and the people who we are with now, we don’t necessarily need to meditate.

We can utilise our senses in a just a moment’s long simple exercise that you can do wherever you are. Here is how to do this:

–       Look around you and notice what colours you see,
–       Take note of what makes cars are passing by,
–       Become aware of sounds you are hearing right now.
–       Notice smells you might be smelling now.

This will easily bring you back to here and now, so you can start to truly enjoy the time and the people you have right now.

If you would like to take advantage of more easy and practical ways to stay and enjoy the present moment more fully, call or text me on 07966151680.

“Tell me about yourself.” 😱

Communicating your unique value proposition in job interviews is hard.

You want to make a good impression, but:

🥳 You don’t want to sound like you’re bragging.
🧰 So, you underestimate your skills and achievements.
🤸 You overthink, and feel like you’re having some kind of ‘out of body’ experience.
👀 You’re not sure if what ends up coming out of your mouth is relevant or even sensible.

But what if I told you these five simple tweaks could make these problems disappear?

Let me show you:

1️⃣ Be specific and focused:

♦ Avoid giving a broad intro that could apply to anyone.
♦ Highlight what uniquely qualifies you for the role.

2️⃣ Keep it short and sweet:

♦ Don’t overwhelm the interviewer with too much information.
♦ Keep it concise, and focus on the most relevant and impactful aspects.

3️⃣ Align yourself with the company’s needs:

♦ Not tailoring your added value to the specific company and role is a common mistake.
♦ Show how you alone are in prime position to address their challenges and goals.

4️⃣ Provide examples and outcomes:

♦ Use specific examples from your experience to demonstrate your value.
♦ It’s not bragging if it’s a fact.

5️⃣ Show enthusiasm and confidence:

♦ Failing to show confidence and enthusiasm can undermine your value proposition.
♦ Your manner of delivery is as important as the content itself.

🔑 Your unique value proposition is the key to who you are professionally.

🏆 Know who you are and what added value you bring.

Here’s a Monday morning reminder…

It’s good to set goals or intentions for the week.

Hanging your joy, worthiness or peace of mind on achieving them, is a recipe for a punch in the pearlies.

Expectations breed disappointment.

Your value or capacity for joy doesn’t depend on you hitting your goals.

You’re an 11/10 as you are, now. 💎

Walk it, live it. Happy Monday Peeps! 🙌🏻

Monday My experience of Positive Change.

The label we put on an experience becomes that label in our lives.

This afternoon I’m seeing my first clients at a new location!!!

I am sooooo excited!!!

I am going to work as part of a lovely team of therapists at Castle Donnington, near East Midlands airport.

I will be based at Wellness Rooms on the main street, smack in the middle of this lovely town.

The place used to be called D.M. Beauty, but it has now changed focus to offer so much more: Advanced skincare, Foot healthcare, Physiotherapy, Beauty therapy, as well as my service of Coaching and Therapy.

What I am looking forward to is working in a team that is super supportive and inclusive. I am looking forward to a warm place where I can offer safe space to support my clients.

And that’s exactly what it’s going to be, because of the label I have given it.

Physiologically, feeling excited and anxious are the same in our body.

It’s what we call it that makes it different. I choose to be excited.

What experience could you re-name to a more positive label, so that it serves you better? Perhaps creating life more peaceful rather than stressful.

The choices that we make become our life.

Our experiences are not to prove that we’re good or not good at something.

They are to help us explore and realize what we enjoy and what to invite into our lives.

So on that basis, what have you realised your favourite weekend would involve?

For me it would be a mixture of a lie-in, good vibes of R&B music (optionally including some dancing), exploring some interesting new sights with my favourite people, and either a good old favourite Polish dish called Bigos or a medium to hot curry with lots of veg and a decent glass of red wine.

Get the picture? Start creating your perfect weekend too, so you can benefit from downtime and recover after a stressful week.

Creativity at its best.

Have a Fun Friday, and a Fab Weekend!

A significant dilemma of the self-employed and a way to solve it.

I was really looking forward to a local networking meeting last night.

It was held nearby, just 10 min walk away, so it really was a no-brainer.

But I have not been very well for probably about two weeks, having gone almost deaf in one ear. So, both listening to others and speaking about my business would have been hindered.

Many of us self-employed can face a dilemma in this situation: do I go knowing that I’m not going to be as efficient as I can be, or do I rest so that I can recover quicker?

I decided not to go.

I then started thinking how to resolve the actual issue. The networking meetings are for us to spread the word about what we do. We want to help people who are looking for the services we offer get to know us and start the conversations about our services.

And I thought:
Let’s support each other in the space of social media. That’s what they are for after all!

We can support each other not necessarily because we support a particular business, but in order to support the person’s need for rest when unwell.

So I thought I’d share with you my Pitch, and ask you for a huge favour:

Please repost it. As HELP FOR HEALTH.

Feel free to suggest a different heading of posts like this too.

So here is My Pitch:

I work with both men and women who have had a past bad experience.

This can be an accident, a loss or multiple losses, a breakup or divorce, a harsh medical treatment like cancer treatment, being made redundant, etc. etc.

They may be struggling to move on, they may withdraw, avoid certain situations and social interactions, and their confidence might have plummeted, usually because of worrying a lot.

I help them regain Calm and help them take practical steps to Cultivate Confidence, and flourish again.

All of that in easy practical steps and with gentle support.

Sessions available in person in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire and Castle Donnington near East Midlands Airport. Zoom ones are available too.

If you or someone you know would benefit from this, you can visit my website https://lnkd.in/g_9RJyV for more info and how to contact me.

Our Brain’s Secret Strength and source of Confidence

We don’t know about it until we have to use it.
My Pilates class last week came with a triple challenge:

It was a class I actually didn’t fancy joining this time, because I was running late and didn’t want to rush even more,
I have had some sort of pressure sensation in my head for a few days so although I didn’t feel in pain I could hardly hear,
Our instructor came with a croaky voice and could hardly speak,
How often do all these come together?

Come on, this is a one in a million chance of happening.

However, having been shown each exercise I actually really enjoyed putting it into practice. It was as if:

I was focusing more on each detail of the exercise
I was more in tune with my body and how it felt with each movement
I was able to vary intensity depending on how my body was responding to it
And I just knew how to do each exercise.

It was like I had an instructor right next to me, telling me what to do and how to do it. I totally knew exactly what to do. And the more I listened to this internal guide or knowledge, the more my confidence in what I was doing grew.
After the class I felt incredibly well exercised, confident about my skills in Pilates, and really proud of myself for doing all exercises so well!

We all have this inner knowing, guide, knowledge, whatever you want to call it. We just have to keep reminding ourselves of that.
The secret strength of our own brains.
Let’s tap into it more often, and let our Confidence grow.

Totally Priceless.

What have you experienced to realise that you really have the knowledge of how to do something, and feeling your confidence grow because of the trust you put in your own abilities?

It’s a funny thing Confidence. Well, it can be if we let it.

When we feel lack of Confidence in an activity or a skill, we avoid it. It’s called procrastination.
It could be anything from doing one particular task that is complicated or long-winded, to going out and meeting new people.
When we avoid it, our Confidence plummets.
And we spiral down and feel bad about ourselves too.

So to go forward, it is actually good for us to do something really badly.
Because we automatically learn from it.
And when we learn we get better.
And then our Confidence grows.
And we start to feel better about ourselves.

The most beneficial way for us to overcome procrastination is to use our very human skill called sense of humour. It’s hardwired in our brains and helps us see a situation from a more light-hearted perspective.

Then we (and other people) only remember that we laughed, not that we did something not very skilfully.

What would you like to start laughing about instead of stressing about to grow your confidence in?

For me it would be starting new ways to promote my business.

Happy Friday!
Let’s learn to laugh together.

WEDNESDAY Words To Consider

Every Word we say Influences Our Health.

The Monday class I often attend should have been a Yoga, but the instructor was away so we were told it was going to be a gentle stretch class instead.

I was tempted to think: ‘This is going to be boring’, and instead decided to say to myself: ‘I wonder how I could enjoy this. I had a full-on day so slowing down could actually help me today’.

The end result was very unexpected. I not only enjoyed the class’s slower pace, but found that my muscles worked really hard and felt the benefit of the extra focus during the exercises.

In our daily lives, we often underestimate the impact of words on our health and well-being. However, research increasingly shows that the language we use, both internally and externally, can significantly affect our mental, emotional, and even physical health.

Understanding how words count towards our health is crucial for fostering a positive and supportive mindset.

Self-talk and Mental Health.

Words we use to communicate with ourselves, known as self-talk, play a pivotal role in shaping our mental health. Positive self-talk can bolster self-esteem, resilience, and overall well-being. Conversely, negative self-talk can fuel anxiety, depression, and stress.

By cultivating a habit of awareness of our self-talk and applying self-compassion through reframing or changing negative thoughts into more constructive or optimistic language, we can nurture a healthier mindset.

If you would like to learn more ways in which language shapes our health outcomes, read my blog here:

MONDAY My Confidence share

Trials, Tribulations, and…. Trophies!

It was a rather interesting weekend for me. I learned so much about my brain!

I used to have a Windows laptop, many years ago.
Now I have an iMac and I’m very comfortable using it.
It wasn’t like this all the time; it took me a good while to learn the different way it works compared to a Windows one. But I learned how to use it well and it became a second nature for me.

But for the last few weeks my Apple laptop has been a bit erratic, and my zoom client sessions and meetings were not great as my screen would flash with strange colour lights, and sometimes I was kicked out of zoom altogether.

So I borrowed my husband’s spare Windows laptop to see how zoom works on another device. Oh my! Learning how to use a Windows operating system, and navigating accessing emails on the web, and then testing sending email invites and use Zoom on that laptop took some doing. A big part of it was logging into and using Microsoft 365 which I hadn’t done for a long time, especially that it threw several strange messages that were hard to understand. It surprised me how much I had forgotten and how much effort it took to put all the things together.

But My brain responded to the repetition.
And having gone through the process of logging into all different applications I needed to start up a Zoom meeting several times, I become much more comfortable and confident.

The faint neuropathway has been accessed and strengthened.

Our amazing brains are capable of learning so much!

What re-learning experience have you recently had that made you realise that your brain is truly capable of learning much more than you give it credit for?

FRIDAY FUN:We all experience times when the going gets tough and we have not one or two challenge...

We all experience times when the going gets tough and we have not one or two challenges, but several challenges that we feel stuck in and they all need sorting out, kind of Now.

This is a time when we can reach a point of frustration and we feel like we are overwhelmed with emotion so much we are close to bursting.

This is when venting off is really useful.

It’s basically letting go of overwhelming emotions and thoughts without actually needing a solution. It creates headspace for you to start thinking rationally, and work out solutions to your issues.

It is a good idea to have people in your life we can trust that they can participate in this exercise, and it is best when we can return the favour when that other person needs to release pent-up emotions.

We all tend to have some people in our lives that fit the bill. They could be:
·      Members of your family,
·     Friends,
·     Co-workers,
·     Hairdressers,
·     Beauticians,
·     Massage (or other) therapists,

etc. etc., or anyone else.

So, how many people have YOU got in your life that can be there for you when you need to vent off, and you can do the same for them?

I have counted mine and I think I have 7.

How many have you got?

Have a Great Friday, and a Fabulous weekend!
